Chelsie A. Blankenship
HINTON — Chelsie A. Blankenship, 95, of 606 Greenbrier Ave., Hinton, died at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2010, at his home following a long illness.
Born January 30, 1915, at Bertha, West Virginia, he was the son of the late George M. and Dora Young Blankenship.
Chelsie was the former manager for Wilson Meat Company in Hinton and was the former owner of Blankenship Meat Market in Hinton. He was also a former employee of Kroger in Hinton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and attended First Baptist Church in Hinton. Chelsie was a member of the Hinton Masonic Lodge #62 A.F. & A.M.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen V. Harmon Blankenship.
Also preceded by a grandson, Joseph M. Blankenship, and great-grandson, Joel Blankenship.
Survivors include a son, Joseph M. Blankenship of Hinton
One daughter, Jean Keffer and husband Harry of Hinton
One sister, Gertha Cashwell and husband Howard of Hinton
Five granddaughters, Amy Keffer Johnson and husband Jeff of Hurricane, WV, Ann Keffer Wilson and husband Mike of Golds Boror, NC, Brooke A. Boyer and husband Jeremy of Hedgesville, WV, Brittany S. Blankenship Suffecool and husband Jeremy T. of Clear Spring, MD, and Bethany L. Blankenship Snavely and husband Seth of Hinton

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastors David Board and Ronald Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may call from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: David Ballard, A.E. Ball, Jr., Ted Rogers, Garry Wheeler, Stan Duncan, Stan Duncan, Johnny Blankenship, Seth Snavely, Todd Meador and Jeremy Boyer.
