West Columbia - Frances 'Rita' Lorita Thomas, 67, of West Columbia, widow of Donald E. Thomas, died Friday, June 18, 2004. Funeral services will be held at noon, Monday, June 21, in City of Hope Worship Center, formerly West Columbia Church of God, with Bishop Joe Grice officiating. Burial will be in Southland Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Thomas was born in Neeses, the daughter of the late Moncrief and Margaret Gleaton Williams. She was a local lifetime resident and attended City of Hope Worship Center. She was predeceased by a brother, Jakie Williams. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Ralph Long, of West Columbia, Sharon and David Massengale, of Lexington; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Jackie Thomas, of Batesburg, Ken and Susan Thomas, of Lexington, Dave and Kristi Thomas, of West Columbia; sisters, Patsy Binnicker, of Orangeburg and Ann White, of Summerville; brother, Woody Williams of Elloree; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.
