He died at a Union fort during the Civil War, however; he was NOT a soldier, just a little boy. His father was a 1st Lt. and later QuarterMaster with the 52nd IN Vol. Infantry and his mother and siblings were living at the fort in officers quarters during a long encampment in TN during 1863. I'm a little surprised they brought the young boy back to IN for burial, but I suppose since so many of their other children were here it seemed 'right'. Sadly, the mother died in MO while visiting one of her surviving adult children, several years later, and is buried there...
