Born on Easter Sunday 1844, on the "Keller Farm" along the southern shore of Buckeye Lake in northern Fairfield County/eastern Perry County, Ohio.

Easter Elizabeth Shisler Keltner and Byron P. Baird were married on April 27th, 1891 in Van Buren County, Iowa. The couple made their home in Folker Twp., Clark County, Missouri near the border with Scotland County, where Byron continued to live following her death in August, 1903. This was Easter Elizabeth's fourth marriage. Her first two ended in the death of her spouses, Nathaniel Keltner and Robert Robinson. Her third marriage to William Cook, Jr. ended in divorce shortly after that marriage in Oakwood, Paulding County, Ohio on January 1st, 1881. Cook was the stepson of Easter Elizabeth's aunt, Rebecca Shisler Cook.

Orphaned at age 11 when her mother died from tuberculosis, she was taken in by a family friend, Solomon Beery and family, in Berne Twp., Fairfield County, Ohio with whom she lived until her late teens when she traveled to Lima, Ohio to help out in her step-father's home (Dr. Johann Collais). It was during this time that she went to visit her Shisler grandparents and aunt, Rebecca Shisler Cook, in Oakwood, Paulding County, and met Nathaniel Keltner of Hoaglin Twp., Van Wert County. The couple were married on August 30, 1866 at the home of Nathaniel Hattery in Hoaglin Township. Nathaniel worked for the Hattery's in their brick and tile yard until his untimely death in early December 1872, except for a brief period (ca. 1871-1872), when he and his young family lived in Salem, Illinois. The Keltner's lived in a two-room log cabin on the Hattery farm where both of their daughters were born.
