Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Porter,wife of J. J. Porter, well-knownmerchant of Neersville, Va. died Wednesday night at 9:30 at her home following a short illness. She was aged 87 years. A daughter of the late George F. Abel and Jane Derry Abel, she was a life-long resident of Neersville, Va., which is in Loudoun county near Harpers Ferry. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter,
Mrs. Hazel Porter Hess, at home; one brother, J. E. Abel, Winfield. Kans., one sister, Mrs. Edna Crim, Hillsboro, Va.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock (est) at the late residence in charge of Rev. Leigh Bell assisted by Rev. Dr. Wade. Interment will be in the Hillsboro cemetery. Friends may call at the late home.
