C. Keith Brown was born April 5, 1919 in Scottville, Michigan to J.W. and Myrtle (Large) Brown. At a young age he moved to Yale, Michigan with his family and graduated from Yale High School in 1937. He served with the U.S. Army in field artillery from October, 1941 to October, 1945 in the South Pacific. On October 27, 1945 Keith married Miss Helen Wilson of Fremont Township; Sanilac County. After their marriage, he worked at Seaton's Farm Implement dealership and the Yale Speedway gas station. In 1950 he secured a rural mail carrier's job with the Yale Post Office, a position he held until his retirement in 1983. For several years he painted and did handyman jobs around Yale and also worked as a caretaker for the Methodist church in Yale. Keith held membership in the Rural Letter Carrier's Association; the Yale chapter of the Masonic Lodge; and the Yale United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, Keith is survived by two daughters and sons-in-laws: Susan (Dennis) Bricker of Yale and Betsy (Jim) Bearss of Ruby, Michigan and five grandchildren: Joan (Bricker)Baret; Laura (Bricker) Hagan; Amanda Bricker; Brian Bearss and Katie Bearss; and one great-grandchild, Thomas Baret. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Betty Dimon of Port Huron, Michigan. He was succeeded in death by a brother, Jack Brown, of Sarasota, Florida. Keith is buried in Elmwood Cemetery; Yale, Michigan.
