He was born Feb. 18, 1917, in Fergus Falls, the son of Lewis and Mathedia (Wee) Flatin. He was raised by his grandmother, Kären Wee, after the death of his mother at the age of two months.
He worked with Ed Wee on the farm and was employed at International Harvester and the Farmers Elevator in Rothsay from 1953 to 1980. He also worked for Sonny Nord, driving school buses, and enjoyed the children he worked with.
He married Ruth Margaret Varholdt on Dec. 30, 1938. Ruth died on April 2, 1989.
On June 22, 1991, he married Margaret Kiesz.
Clifford volunteered at Dakota Clinic, giving their patients transportation rides in a golf cart to their appointments.
He was a lifetime member of Hamar Lutheran Church in Rothsay, and was also a member of the Rothsay Fire Department and the Lions Club.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Ruth; sisters, Arlene and Thelma; brothers, Lawrence, Lloyd, Orville, and Ed; step-brothers, Alvin and Richard Theodorson; and sons-in-law, Si Flan and Harold Johnson.
Memorials are preferred to the Pioneer Retirement Community Building Fund.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at New Life Lutheran Parish, Hamar in Rothsay
