Opal Thelma Cook, 90, of Florien died on April 23 at Sabine Medical Center in Many. She was born on July 9, 1917 in Peason. Services were held on April 25 at Kilpatrick's Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. M.C. Green officiated, and was assisted by the Rev. T.A. Gibson. Burial followed at the Florien Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, Roy L. Cook: son, Harold Cook; two grandsons, Bronson Cook and Wayne Cook; and by 11 brothers and sisters.She is survived by six sons, Roy L. Cook and wife, Lolita, James Cook, Ralph Cook and wife, Cheryl, David Cook, Joe Don Cook and wife, Kathy, and Danny Cook; two daughteres, Caroly Caldas and husband, Arthur, and Sharon Calhoun and husband, Duane; 10 granddaughters, Mellonda Cook, MarKae Palmer, Alesha Cook, Kristi Morgan, Karen Herrington, Laura Dial, Ingrid Byles, Jen Cook, Kim Cook, and Robin Cook; 10 grandsons, Raymond Caldas, Shane Anderson, and Jeremy, Brad, Wade, Brant, Mike, Bryan, Wendell, and Colby Cook; and 45 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were her sons.
