ALVIN A. ' BUCK ' BUCHANAN, 70, of Memphis, retired insurance salesman and retired employee of Ford Motor Co., died Saturday at his home after a short illness. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memphis Funeral Home Union Chapel with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown. He was a Mason. Mr. Buchanan, the husband of Viola Buchanan, leaves two daughters, Janette Hines of Millington and Genevia Martin of Como, Miss.; two sons, Jerry Buchanan of Memphis and Larry Buchanan of Nesbit, Miss.; three sisters, Gladys Jones of Springfield, Ohio, Marie Shearin of Memphis and Hazel Smith of Grand Junction, Tenn.; four brothers, Ervin Buchanan of Fort Worth, Texas, Travis Buchanan of Memphis, Roy Buchanan of Kansas City, Kan., and Leon Buchanan of Vermilion, Ohio, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
