William Oliver Howard, 63, lifetime resident of McGrew, died Friday afternoon at a Scottsbluff hospital after and three-month illness.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Bayard Assembly of God church with the Rev. J. M. Cummings conducting the rites. Burial was in the Bayard Cemetery.

A retired farmer, Mr. Howard was born March 26, 1891 at McGrew. He attended Chimney Rock and McGrew Schools. On July 24, 1917 at Gering he was married to Lottie Mae Trefren, who died in 1952. Mr. Howard was a member of the Woodmen of the World lodge at McGrew. He retired from farming in 1939.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. H. L. Anderson of Gering and Mrs. B. L. Marker of McGrew: five sons, Clifford, Gordon and Billy of McGrew, Vernon of Monrovia, Calif., and Wesley of Gering: two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Smith and Mrs. Sarah Fisher, his twin, both of McGrew: and two brothers, John of Parma, Ida, and George of Venice, Calif. Besides his wife, a son and a brother preceded him in death.
