Audrey Leonard Abbott, 64, of Madison Heights, died Friday, March 12, 2010 at her residence.

Born April 12, 1945 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Estol F. Leonard, Sr. and the late Garnetta Gladys Keesee Leonard and was also preceded in death by one sister, Ethel Leonard Williams.

She was a retired hairdresser with Rivermont Beauty Salon and volunteered for ten years in the Emergency Room at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was a member of Madison Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Abbott is survived by one son, William Randolph Viar; two daughters, Shawn Viar Singleton and husband, David and Deborah Viar Hubbard, all of Madison Heights; one brother, E.F. "Sonny" Leonard and wife, Frances of Forest; three sisters, Estelle L. Brock of Lynchburg, Betty L. Hudson and husband, Harold and Christine L. Lacks and husband, Bill, all of Goode; four grandchildren, Jason Lee Peters, Christopher Thomas Miller, Blake Edward Randolph Miller, and Keely Ryce Coleman and three great-grandchildren, Conner James Miller, Georgia Rae Miller, and Hunter William Glass (Peters) and extended family member, friend, and caretaker, Becky Yeatts.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2010 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Charles Stinson officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., today, March 14, 2010 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Centra Hospice of the Hills.
