James H. Kuser, 73, of Boyertown

James H. Kuser, 73, husband for 54 years of Virginia B. (Bortz) Kuser of Boyertown passed away on Monday at Reading Hospital. Born in Boyertown, he was the son of the late Mabel (Hess) Kuser and the late Samuel Kuser.
Mr. Kuser was a 52 year member of the Earl Township Fire Company where he served as its President from 2002-2005, Assistant Chief from 1964-2001, and as a Trustee from 1964-2001. He worked for 36 years as an employee of C.S. Garber and Boyertown Supply Inc. before retiring in 2001. In addition he also worked at the Earl Township Park for many years. Mr. Kuser also enjoyed hunting and he was a member of the Pike Township Sportsmen's Association and Relief Fund.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children, Cindy L. Schoenly of Gilbertsville, James S. Kuser of Temple and Kevin L. Kuser (Fiance' of Stacy Faust) of Boyertown; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and his sisters, Lydia Junger of Barto and Virginia Schwenk of New Berlinville. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Helen Angstadt, and his brothers, Lloyd Kuser, Samuel Kuser, Raymond Kuser, and Charles Kuser.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, starting at 10:30 a.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1020 E. Philadelphia Avenue, Gilbertsville, and to his Visitation on Friday morning from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hill Church Cemetery, Boyertown.
