The Correctionville News, 19 May 1988, page 3: P. Kay Petersen, 41, of Correctionville died Tuesday, May 10, 1988, in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon with Rev. Gerald Zensen officiating. Burial was in Mount St. Joseph Cemetery under direction of Walter Funeral Home. Mrs. Petersen, the former Patricia Kay Bernard, was born May 5, 1947, in Anthon, the daughter of Wilfred and Marguerite (Callaghan) Bernard, in Anthon. She graduated from Anthon-Oto High School in 1965 and summa cum laude from Briar Cliff College. She married Thomas A. Petersen June 25, 1966, in Anthon. The couple farmed in the Anthon-Correctionville community. She was a social worker with Lutheran Social Services and at Sunrise Manor in Sioux City. She also worked with the Collins Insurance Agency in Anthon. Mrs. Petersen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon where she taught religion classes and was a member of the choir. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Survivors include her husband, two sons, Chad of Sioux City and Shane of Anthon, a daughter, Angela of Correctionville, her mother, Marguerite Bernard of Anthon, two brothers, Jack of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jim of Correctionville, and eight sisters, Mrs. Richard (Mary) McNally of Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. James (Ann) LoJacono of Spri8ngfield, Virginia, Mrs. Donald (Jane) Dixon of Anthon, Mrs. Dennis (Susan) Baulman of Wisconsin, Mrs. Randy (Nancy) Dose of Evergreen, Colorado, Mrs. Thomas (Anita) Simmons of Clarion, Iowa, Mrs. Michael (Theresa) Gurr of British Columbia, and Jonie Bernard of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded by her father and one brother, Bob.
