John Allen Underwood was born March 13, 1873 in Henderson, Tennessee. After attending medical school he moved to Warren where he established his medical practice. He married first to Anna Barbee, a daughter of Z.T. & Marinda Caroline West Barbee. After her death, he married Mattie Lou Glover, a daughter of Joel Joseph and Jane Cooper Glover. Dr. Underwood died June 14, 1936. He is buried in Oakland Cemetery at Warren. Children:
