Harlen Lloyd Duarte, 80, of North Point, Fla., went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 24, 2010.
He was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Hayward, Calif. to Rudolph and Hortense Duarte, where he grew up going to school and playing baseball with his brother, Kenneth, and his best friend, Bob Valine.
His wife, Leola, whom he met through her best friend, Virginia...Harlen and "Lee" spent the first 52 years of their marriage in several California towns...
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Leola Cecelia Duarte; three children, Linda Lee, Michael Kevin, and Larry Steven; son-in-law, Cody Richardson; granddaughters, Jessica Lee and Ashlee Rose; daughter-in-law, Barbara Duarte; brother, Kenneth; and niece, Lisa Duarte.
Visitation will be held from 12:45 to 2:15 pm today, Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Farley Funeral Home in North Port, with a graveside service to follow at 2:45 pm at Venice Memorial Gardens in Venice...Arrangements are by Farley Funeral Home in North Port.
