William was a Railroad man, and worked for the Burlington & Missouri River Railroad in Nebraska from November 08, 1894 to September 06, 1898. About 1900, he operated a livery and boarding stable at Fremont, Nebraska.
On November 03, 1908, William was elected Justice of the Peace of Harlin County, Nebraska.
On or about April 01, 1917., the family located on a farm, which was carved out of the J.P. Klug Ranch south of Kuner, Colorado.This would not be their last place to live.
William died in a taxi outside the address of 2381 South Josephine Street, Denver, Colorado, from heart desease, Julia Redifer claimed his body,( Julia Redifer was William's second or third wife.
William wrote a autobiography and he states he was left an orphan at 4 years old, both parents dying weeks apart. All the information on his parents and family was furnished by his writings,his brother George and his father's brothers.
