Dwight Wayne Nicholas, 88, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 24, 2004 after a lingering illness. He was born on August 25, 1916 in Willard, Utah to Jesse and Grace Brunker Nicholas. He married Irene Holland and later divorced. He married Janice Wight and later divorced. On December 23, 1959 he married Eileen Davidson in California.

Wayne spent a good share of his life at Promontory, Utah. Until the day of his death, it held a special place in his heart. He worked at various occupations throughout his life and was a genuine handyman at most everything.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Garland 1st Ward.

Surviving are is wife; his children: Tamara (Eddie) Dayton, Cokeville, WY; Shannon Dayton Nicholas, Honeyville, UT; Kathryn (William) Hughes, Beaver Dam, UT; Richard Wayne (Lori) Nicholas, Bothwell, UT; Barbara (Hal) Hawkins, Blackfoot, ID; one brother: Grant; 24 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Joseph and Jesse, two sisters: Thera and Dorothy, and one son: Dwight Jess.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 1:00 a.m. at the Garland Tabernacle located at 140 West Factory, Garland, UT. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 from 6:30 - 8:30 at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, UT, and also from 9:30 to 10:30 Thursday at the church prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Willard Cemetery.
