My brother and I met Issac Earnest Broyles IV-"Ernie" on our first new air base assignment with the three of us just being out of basic training. We became instant close pals. I named my first born son after him. Everyone that ever knew Earnie liked him or loved him and he had such a great sense of humor, a great pal. He had this southern quality about him that got him through some tough times and always coming out light hearted and smelling like a rose. He was fun and a pleasure to be around. My brother served four years with him in the AF prior to joining the Army and I served a little over two years with him as we were assigned to different air bases but we always were in contact with each other. I have found that southern folks are very giving and polite and Earnie was living proof of that. He left behind a loving mother and father, one brother and a sister and there were many family relatives and friends that attended his funeral. Earnie was tragically killed in a pick-up truck accident near Morristown, Tennessee.
