Suffolk, VA.: Retired MSgt. Robert David Macioci, of Suffolk, Virginia and formerly of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away at his home on June 16, 2010 surrounded by family after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.

He was born April 20, 1942 to the late Sidney A. and Nell Macioci in addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Robert David "Bobby" Macioci Jr.

He was a 20 year Air Force veteran having served in Vietnam. He was awarded a Bronze Star with V for Valor because of his heroism while under ememy fire. In addition to Vietnam , he served twice in Germany , Texas, Langley Air Force Base Virginia, and Minot, North Dakota. For most of his 20 year career he was an aircraft maintenance superintendent.

Following retirement he moved back home to Lancaster, Ohio and worked at what he knew best, automobile mechanic. Upon his father's retirement from Macioci's Garage, Robert took a small one man family business and expanded, improved, and served the Lancaster community with pride and honesty for 24 years, when in 2005 he was diagnosed with lung cancer.
