William Lester Barnwell, 83, of 4040 Hospital West Drive, Austell, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2005. He was born in Cleburne County, Ala. Mr. Barnwell was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Barnwell, Winnie Florence Barnwell Worthington and Dee Worthington and wife, Inez Julia Barnwell. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Mathews; son, Douglas Barnwell; sister, Betty Worthington Moore; brother, Hoyt Worthington and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Guy officiating. Interment followed in the New Harmony Cemetery. Full military rites were performed by the Brewster-Cleveland Post #86. The Olin L. Gammage and sons Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
