Mr. Jesse C. Ford, Jr. 83 years of age of Meadow Lane, Bridgeport, WV, died on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at his residence. He was born October 13, 1925, in Big Battle, Doddridge County, the son of the late Jesse C. and Eska Hudson Ford. Mr. Ford was preceded in death by his wife, Galena "Tink" Ford on April 13, 2009.

Mr. Ford is survived by a son, two brothers and five sisters. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lana "Lambie" Lore Ford, a brother, Forrest Ford, and a sister, Pauline Ford Ash.

Mr. Ford retired from Consolidated Natural Gas as an accountant. He was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church and was a past president of the Bridgeport Lions Club. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and were members of the United Commercial Travelers. They also belonged to the Bereaved Parents of the USA, Bridgeport, WV, Chapter.

He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He was stationed in both the European and Pacific Theaters.

Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV, on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10-11 a.m.

The funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend James T. Lang presiding. The interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, WV.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the wonderful organization of Tender Loving Care Hospice, 119 Pennsylvania Avenue, Bridgeport, WV 26330.

The Ford family has entrusted the care and arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV.
