MRS. MARY J. KELLER DIES AT SON'S HOME
STROKE OF PARALYSIS PROVES FATAL TO TIPPECANOE RESIDENT
FUNERAL FRIDAY AFTERNOON
Mrs. Mary Jane Keller, 68, widow of William Keller, a daughter of a Miami County pioneer family, and a resident of Tippecanoe City, succumbed to paralysis at 2:10 Wednesday afternoon in the home of her son, John Keller, of Troy. She had been in the home of her son the last two months owing to the state of her health. Saturday noon she suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she failed to rally.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the home of the son. Burial will be made in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tippecanoe City.
Mary Jane Smith Keller was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, and she was born on a farm near Tippecanoe City, March 14, 1864. She was one of a family of nine children. Only three of this family survive. They are: Estey S. Smith, Peter Smith, and Mrs. Lillie Rudy.
The early part of Mrs. Smith's life was spent in Tippecanoe City and four of her five children were born there. The family then moved to Barlow, ND, and Mr. Keller died there in 1914. Two years after Mr. Keller's death, the widow returned to Tippecanoe City to make her home.
Surviving are two sons and three daughters: John Keller, Elmer S. Keller, Mrs. A. J. Carlson, Mrs. Joe Edginger, and Mrs. Martin Aas. All of Mrs. Keller's children, with the exception of Elmer S. Keller, were here at the time of her death.
