Malaria was attributed as the cause of the death of Austin E. Spencer, 57, a farmer residing west of Holland in the Samford community. Mr. Spencer was a native of Trenton, Tenn., and was born in the year 1876.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Bennie Spencer, of this city, one daughter, Mrs. John Culp, also of Steele, and other near relatives.
Funeral services were held at Samford church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Elder L.S. Thurmond, Church of Christ pastor. With the German Undertaking Co. in charge burial was made in the Coleman cemetery.
