Ellamae Callaham Knapp, life long resident of Buckley passed away Oct. 12, 1997. She was born Dec. 15, 1909 to eorge H. Callaham and Bessie Lee Claunch Callaham in Buckley, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry M. Knapp, 4 brothers, 3 sisters.

She is survived by children: David (Vera) Knapp, Soap Lake, WA; Tom (Joyce) Knapp, Colville, WA; Willard Knapp, Bonney Lake, WA; Esther (Richard) Kletsch; Centralia, WA; Ted (Lynn) Knapp, McCleary, WA; Eleanor (Richard) Boman, Wickenburg, AZ; Eleanor Knapp, Enumclaw, WA; Don Kennedy, TX; 25 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; Brother, William R. Callaham, Auburn, WA; sister, Lois Grooms, Kent, WA.

Ellamae is a life member of Enumclaw Women of the Moose and Past Senior Regent in 1952-53. A 25 year member of Mt. Rainier Chapter #61 Order of Eastern Star, Buckley Past Matron in 1969-70. Ellamae served as den mother over 20 years for the Buckley Cub Scout Pack. She served as group leader for Bluebirds and Campfire Girls. She served on the advisory board for the Buckley Assembly of Rainbow Girls. Ellamae enjoyed activities at the Buckley Senior Center being recognized as "The Volunteer of the Year". She served as treasurer of the center and also lead chair aerobics for several years.
