Irene was a 45 year employee of The New York Telephone Company. They made her leave at age 65, but she would have rather worked forever. She retired from The Far Rockaway Office.

She met each of life's problems with a stern lecture and good advice. It mattered not if you needed the lecture, or the advice, you were gonna get it. She knew the value of a dollar, and what the sting of privation felt like deep down in your belly.

She smiled at the little things, such as her nieces and nephews. Her favorite color was a high gloss, fire engine red. Now forever fixed in my mind as "Irene Red!" Her favorite smell was mothballs. Her sneeze was an unforgettable bone shaking experience for the listener.

She was one of a kind. The greatest aunt a kid could have. She never got older, she just got better. She was missed only once, and that is forever. Truly, she was one of God's favorite creations.

My thanks to Wisteria for sponsoring this find a grave memorial. I know that my Aunt Irene would have told you to buy some stock, or to put your money in the bank, but I also know that she thanks you for remembering her as well!
