PFC Harold Lee Davidson was a World War II veteran with the United States Marine Corps.He served in 4 major campaigns, and the battles of Guadalcanal and New Britain. He was wounded several times during those battles and carried many scars and pieces of shrapnel in his body when he finally returned to US soil. He received wounds in the Cape Gloucester campaign for which he had to report after his leave, to the Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, Virginia where he will be given further treatment. He received the Purple Heart, Presidential Citation, Marine Conduct Medal, Asiatic Southwest Pacific Medal w/four stars. American Theatre Medal, and the American Defense Medal with one star. He served with the 1st Marine Division.

OBITUARY

Harold L. Davidson, 59, of 14 Grandville Lane, Chesnut Hill Estates, was dead on arrival at Newark Emergency Room after an apparent heart attack at his home.

Mr Davidson was a supervisor for five years at Process Industries, New Castle, before retiring in 1976.

He is survived by his wife, Lois D. of Dowingtown, Pennsylvania, and David L. of Newark. Two daughters, Marcia A. Bantle of Wiliamstown, New Jersey, and Marlene M. Breu Travers of Rochester, New York. His mother, Lillie Davidson of Bartow, Florida. Two brothers, William of Bartow Florida, and Edsel of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Five sisters, Edna M. Everingham of Bartow, Florida, Mary R. Tralle of Raytown, Missouri, ALice J. Calhoun of Fall City, Washington, Shelba J. Gaines of Branson, Missouri, and Carol S. Koegel of Anacortes, Washington, and five grandchildren.

Services will be Monday afternoon at 12:45 at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, Du Pont Highway,where friends may call at noon. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contriburions to the Delaware Heart Fund, 4c Trolley Square, Wilmington 19899 or the Veterans Administration Hospital, 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere 19805.
