Irvalyn Grimm, 2, daughter of Len H. and Irva Whitmore Grimm, 212 West First South street, died at the county hospital Friday night from burns she suffered at her home Friday morning when she fell into a large tub of scalding water. The child was burned on more then two-thirds of her body skin surface, according to physicians who were called to the home and who also attended her after she was taken to the count hospital.

According to the story related by the parents, the baby was playing about the kitchen of the home Friday morning. The mother had placed a tub of scalding water on the floor prepatory to doing some cleaning work. The child, having taken a bath in water and tub placed on the floor in the same manner, thought she was to have her bath at that particular time and started to climb into the tub.

As the water touched one of her feet, Irvalyn was startled and became overbalanced, tumbling into the water. Her screams brought the mother from an adjoining room. Dr. Ray Woolfe was called and administered to the child. She was removed to the county hospital, where other physicians cooperated in trying to save her life. She died just after midnight that night.

The father and mother and a grandfather, Brigham Whitmore, survive, all residing at the above address.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon from the Fourteenth ward chapel. Interment will be in City Cemetery.
