Frank's real name is Francis Irwin Howard.

His parents were Samuel and Sarah (Sulgrove) Howard. Samuel was born about 1812, and died 31 August 1889.

Frank I. Howard, son of Samuel I. and Sarah Sulgrove Howard, was born at Ottumwa, Iowa on June 30, 1856, and passed away March 20, 1935, being 78 years, 8 months and 20 days of age. When the deceased was two years of age, his parents moved to the vicinity of Saylorville, near Des Moines where he grew to manhood.

Mr. Howard was united in marriage to Lydia M. Fiegenbaum on February 27, 1881. For twelve years they lived on a farm near Ankeny. In the spring of 1893 they came to Sac County and bought a farm near Sac City which Mr. Howard owned at the time of decease. In 1916 they moved into town which has since been their home.

Mrs. Howard passed away March 29, 1923. Mr. Howard was one of a family of nine children, one dying in infancy, and all but one sister, Mrs. Thomas Lane of Sac City having preceded him in death.

His daughter, Genevieve, Mrs. R.B. Hayes of Plattsmouth, NE, together with her husband and two children, Gene and Robert, mourn his departure.
