Mrs. Alma Hazel Reeves, 74, of Sano Route, Columbia, died Saturday, May 23, 1987 at 4:35 a.m. at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Everett and Anna Mary Tucker Young of Adair County.

Mrs. Reeves is survived by her husband, Buford "Banty" Reeves of Columbia, six sons, Earl Dean Holt of Oklahoma, Glenn Reeves of Glasgow, Danny Reeves of Florida, Louis Reeves, Paul Reeves, and Dennis Reeves all of Columbia. Three daughters also survive, Phyllis Moore of Columbia, Mary Pickett of Glasgow, and Carol Shaul of Tennessee. She is also survived by one sister, Clarice Edna White of Columbia. Twenty grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A devoted member of the Shiloh Christian Church, Mrs. Reeves served as secretary-treasurer for many years and was always instrumental in keeping the church active in the community.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 25 at the Shiloh Christian Church with Bro. Raymond Martin, Bro. Woodrow Damron, and Bro. Steve McClure officiating. Burial was in the Shiloh Cemetery. Grissom Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Steve Conover, Gary Cox, Ron Reeves, Terry Pickett, Shannon Reeves, Joe Reeves, David Shaul, and Eric Reeves.

Honorary pallbearers were Bob Shaul, Randall Pickett, Hershel Moore, Paul Woody Bryant, Fred McIntyre, Norman Young, Martin Yarberry, Marvin Jessee, James Green, James Hatcher, Bruce Wilson, Bobby Arnold, Clifton Hopper, Donald Ray White, Bobby Yates, Don Yates, Arthur June Hendrickson, Mark Hendrickson, Phil Aaron, Steve Aaron, Conway Morris, Joe Powell, Bill Combest, David Reeves, Ronnie Reeves, Jon Williams, and Leon Lasley.
