Kiel. -- Edward A. Hartmann, 52, resident of the town of New Holstein, passed away at his home Friday evening after a lingering illness.
Born Sept. 7, 1892, in New Holstein, the son of Herman and Mary Hartmann, he was married to Elizabeth Dorn of Marytown on Aug. 24, 1920, and resided on a farm in Town Schleswig for two years before moving to the present farm home where they resided the past 23 years.
Survivors are his wife; the following children, Monica, Sister Mother Mary Borromea, F. M. M at the Negro Mission at Cincinnatl, Ohio, Pfc. Herman at Battle Creek, Mich., Sister M. John and Sister Cecelia Veronica at the Holy Family convent, Manitowoc, George, Catherine, Frank, Alphonse, Charles, Frederick, Adam, Theresa, Johanna, Edward, Ann and Hugo at home; his mother, Mrs. Herman Hartmann of Town Schleswig; two brothers, Raymond of Town Schleswig and Charles of Kiel; four sisters, Mrs. Veronica Held and Mrs. Olive Hahn of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Lydia Klaeser and Mrs. Lidvine Schneider of Kiel. Mr. Hartmann was a member of the Catholic Knights of St. Ann's Catholic church at St. Anna.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:45 a. m. at the Meiselwitz Funeral home at Kiel and at 9:30 a. m. at St. Ann's Catholic church at St Anna, the Rev. Father C. P. Kern officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
