SALINA?– Millie E. Gard, 86, of Salina, died Sunday, June 5, 2010.
She was born Feb. 20, 1924, in Sterling. She attended Manhattan High School and graduated from Sterling High School in 1941. She was a graduate of Marymount College and attended Kansas State University and the University of Kansas.
She worked at Cessna in Wichita. She was retired as a medical technician at the then Asbury Hospital in Salina.
Survivors include three sons, Dan C.?Gard of Salina, Scott R. Gard of Abilene and D. Joe Gard of Salina; two daughters, Margaret C. Lantz of Lincoln County and Jessica Regenhardt of Hot Springs, Ark.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Russel W. Gard in 2003; a son, John Waid Gard; a sister, Helen Shoop; and four brothers, Waid Jr., Jack, Jim and Leslie Heter.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E.?Crawford St., Salina, KS 67401, with a burial service at 3 p.m. in the Sterling City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church youth group in Salina.
