Lynette Brant, 69, of Freeport, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010, while in the company of family members at Allegheny Valley Hospital. Lynette was born April 9, 1941, in Natrona Heights, the daughter of the late Addison W. and Martha C. (Lobaugh) Brant Jr.
She was employed as a nursing instructor at Citizens General Hospital in New Kensington for 29 years. Lynette also worked at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center for the past 18 years as a supervisor in the labor and delivery department.
Lynette enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and being with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Ken) Demek, of Winfield Township; one granddaughter, Amber L. Demek; two grandsons, Justin J. and Trent M. Demek, all of Winfield Township; three brothers, Robert Brant, of South Buffalo Township, Addison "Wayne" Brant Jr., of Freeport, and Donald (Maxine) Brant, of Mogadore, Ohio; and two sisters, Susan Brant, of Carnegie, and Mary Lee (Thomas) Nevitt, of San Angelo, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog, Abby.
Family and friends are being received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, Freeport. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Freeport, with Pastor Jamie Retallack officiating.
Burial will be held in Freeport Cemetery Freeport.
