She was a native of Iron Mountain, Ala., daughter of the late William and Mary Ellen Harris Dale, widow of Judd Carpenter, life member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars, member of the American Legion Auxiliary, active in Girls State activities, volunteer in several organizations, and member and past president of an Extension homemakers club.
She is survived by one son, Judd Carpenter of Knoxville; two brothers, Gilder Dale of Rawlins, Wyo., and Dr. Lou Dale of Rock Springs, Wyo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
