Mrs Maude Lee Dies; Rites Set

Mrs. Maude Lee, 65 of 117 Mill Street, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Sottong, Route 2, Sharpsville at 11:30 p.m. Friday. She had been ill for the past two days.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Rock Prairie Church near Sharpsville, with Rev. Chester Mitchel and Rev. Denzil Copeland in charge. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Leatherman-Morris Funeral home until Monday morning when it will taken to the daughter's home where it will remain until time for services. Friends are invited to call at the Funeral home any time.

Mrs. Lee was born April 30, 1882 in Tipton County to James and Sarah Elizabeth (Beaty) DeWitt. She had lived in Tipton County all her life. In 1909 Mrs. Lee married Elmer H. Lee who died March 31, 1947. They were the parents of one child.

Mrs. Lee was a member of the Jackson Station Baptist Church and the Royal Neighbors Lodge in Tipton. She attended schools in Tipton County.

Survivors are the daughter, two brothers, Jaspar DeWitt of Sharpsville and Norbert DeWitt, Mrs. Estella Johnson, Route 1, Sharpsville and Mrs. Clara Floyd of Kokomo, and five grandchildren.
