Ivan C. Powell, age 91, of Jamestown, died Sunday, August 4, 1985, at the Russell County Hospital. Mr. Powell was a member of the Jamestown Christian Church and a veteran of World War I. He was a son of the late J.M. and Nancy E. Lawless Powell.
Survivors include one daughter, Irene Rogers of Jamestown; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Welby Powell of Russell Springs and Walter Powell of Sacramento, California.
The funeral was Monday, August 5, 1985, at 4:00 p.m. at the H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapels, with Bro. Paul Patton and Bro. Phil Neyhart officiating. Interment was in the Jamestown Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were elders and active pallbearers were deacons of the Jamestown Christian Church.
