Bob Pauley
Bob Pauley, 77, of Garretts Bend, Sod, son of Talmadge and Mamie Pauley, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at home of complications with COPD.
He was a 1950 graduate of Duval High School and went on to serve proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Bennie Padilla VFW Post 4768, Alum Creek, where he participated in the award-winning Color Guard. He was also a member of Peytona Church of Christ.
He was a strong, loving influence in all our lives and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley; children and their spouses, Cindy and Charles McKinney, Robert and Linda Pauley, Teresa and Lew Symmes, Sherry and Alan Roberts and Melissa; grandchildren, Alicia, Apphia, Gabe, Joel, Dorian, Deserea, Destiny, Katy and Cole; and great-grandchild, Tahlee. He is also survived by his brother, Ray; sister, Susie; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Donnie Pauley and Charles McKinney officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by Bennie Padilla VFW Post 4768 will be in the Pauley family cemetery, Garretts Bend.
Friends may gather from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
