Reed, C. C. -- 91, passed away at his home Sunday, April 14, after a short illness. He was the son of the late Joel C. Reed and the late Emily Smith Reed and a member of the Hazel Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Pearlie Douglas, Mrs. Beulah Rosser, Mrs. Alta Presley, Mrs. Emily Jones, all of Oneida, Mrs. Arizona Elliott, of Lakeland, Fla., and Mrs. Wilda Troxel, of Glendale, Ore, a son, Hollis Reed, of Burrville; one sister, Mrs. Daley Owens, of Corbin,Ky.; 26 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted from the Hazel Valley Baptist Church, Tuesday, April 16, with the Rev. Dode Ross officiating. Burial followed in the Hazel Valley Cemetery. Arrangements by West Funeral Home. Pall bearers were Harold Rossier, Howard Rossier, Ralph Douglas, Bill Elliott, Dan Elliott and Hollis Kidd (Source:Scott County News, 19 Apr 1968)
