James Madison "Mad" Clower( 1820-1874) and Lucy Johnston Clower( 1820-1849). 1951 transcription of records from Nora Jurney's old Bible,regarding family born in the Monroe and Putnam county areas of Georgia, and Conway County,Arkansas."Lucy Clower was taken sick seventh day of November 1848-died 10 th of June A.D. 1849 .Olive married James M. on August 13,1849".

FRANCES MATILDA CLOWERR ALMAND
The Clower/Todd family Bible lists Frances Matilda Clower as born November 11, 1842, married Issac S. Almand on 10 February 1857 (in the Forsyth area,Monroe County,Georgia).This was her first marriage and his third.They had four children- Issac 1859-,Fanny Lucy-1863-1928( Married Jim Thompson-lived in Bostwick, MorganCo.)Louis Anderson Almand 1865-1948 ( Married Annie Sanders-lived in Comer,GA),Milton Matthew Almand 1868-1946( M. Lena Malcolm-lived in Social Circle).

CENSUS 1870 AND DEATH
Frances is listed in the 1870 Morgan County,GA. with Issac. So we know that she died after 1870 and before Issac's last marriage in 8 Sept 1871.She was about 28 years old at the time of her death and married about 13 years.The family Bible does not record her death.Some records have Monroe as her last child, but most have him born in 1872. Family story is the wives died in childbirth and then he died of old age(72/3).By 1871,Issac had married his fourth wife, Sarah Elizabeth Malcolm.(She outlived him)
Buried with Issac and first two wives on knoll in cemetery, pictures show area. Tim Savelle did great photo work.

Most likely- James Madison Clower was born 29 July 1820 to Jessie Clower (Orange,NC 1786)(Monroe County,GA 1832) and Malida (Matilda) Hansford (Morgan County,GA 1767) ( Monroe County,GA 16 Jan 1860). He married 25 September 1837 or 22 Dec 1836) in Jasper County,GA Lucy Johnston (1820-10 June 1849 in Monroe County). She was the daughter of Nathan and Bridget "Biddy" Thorton Johnston. He married second Olive J. McCune 13 Aug 1849 in Butts County,GA. She was born in 1825 and died 1870. All of the known children are from first marriage.

Most likely Issac(the child) and Monroe and also buried here. There are no records of Issac surviving. Monroe died at age of 13/14 in 1886. It remains unknown which wife was his mother.It is possible to make a case for Francis or Sarah. Census records are not the most accurate for ages.
