Born in Woodruff County, Ark., on Sept. 11, 1917, he moved to the Akron area, where he retired from the Ohio Mechanical Handling Co.
Preceded in death by wife, Jennie E., and daughter, Darlene, he is survived by his loving son, David P. Duffel of Akron; brothers, Morris of Searcy, Ark., and Vernon Duffel of Sedona, Ariz.; sisters, Ola Garrison of Moscow, Tenn., Dorris Marlett of Gainesville, Mo., and Learlean Downs of Houston, Texas.
Funeral service will be Monday, Oct. 7, 1996, at 1 p.m. at the Schermesser Funeral Home, South Main Street Chapel, 1446 S. Main St., with Rev. Winston Pike officiating. Calling hours will be Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment at Glendale Cemetery.
