George L. Hance, 69, passed away on Friday June 4, 2010 at the Community Hospice of NE Florida, Acosta Rua Center in Jacksonville, after a battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife of 20 years, Edith, one stepson, Joseph K. Harbough, Jr. (Jennifer), two brothers James (Jeanette), Jerry (Ramona) Hance. One sister Sheila (Mike) Perry. Several nieces and nephews. George was a Jacksonville native. He served in the US Air Force. After his Military service he moved back to Jacksonville where he lived out the remainder of his life. He was retired from the City of Jacksonville where he worked at the Police Memorial Bldg. George enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the M&M Hunting Club, Waverly, Ga. He was a fan of NASCAR, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Florida Gators. He was also a Booster in the the Jax. Stockcar Racing Hall of Fame. Services will be held Friday June 25, 2010 at 11 AM, at the National Cemetery on Lannie Rd. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to Community Hospice of NE Florida.
