Adelbert B. Clarke, 83, of 19303 West Mooreland, Detroit, a former Marine City resident, died Sunday in Mt. Carmel Hospital, Detroit, after a long illness.

He moved to Detroit in 1968. He was a retired steamfitter, retiring in 1969.

Clark was born April 15, 1890, in Manton, Mich. He and Helen Kaiser were married in July 1934, in Detroit.

He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Barton, Detroit; a son, William A. Clarke, Cinncinati, Oh.; six grandchildren; and a sister in New York.

The remains will be in Wilkie Funeral Chapel, West Seven-Mile Road, Detroit, after 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Rev. James R. Barnes, pastor, of Rice Memorial Methodist Church, Detroit, officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair, with Rev. Phillip D. Miles, pastor of Marine City Free Methodist Church, officiating. Funeral arrangements were made by Bower Rose Funeral Home, Marine City.
