Curtis Glen Howerton was born to Glen Howerton and JoAnn Laughlin Howerton on Aug. 15, 1953. He had an older sister, Devery Ann, born in 1949 (date to be added when bio is edited). His mother passed away in June of 1957 at the age of 29 of a malignant brain tumor when Curt was nearing the age of 4. I can remember the day of the funeral, a terrible storm had begun the night before, lightning, thunder and torrential rain, but had slowed to a steady rain from a dismal, gray sky the following morning. Curt, a beautiful child with huge expressive dark brown eyes, looked up at my mother, his aunt (JoAnn's sister, Rose) and said, "The angels are crying for my mommy, Aunt Rose." It was a heartbreaking moment. Curt hadn't had the chance to truly get to know his mother as she had been ill for quite some time, and a series of botched operations had destroyed a great deal of her mental capacity, including her memory. He was cared for by his maternal grandmother, Florence Laughlin, his maternal aunt, Rose Shelburn, and, of course, his father, Glen, during Jo's illness.
We didn't see Curt or Dev at all, nor communicated with them after Jo's untimely death, until my sister, Linda, connected with Dev many years into our adulthood. We learned then that Curt was an architect, with a wife, Margo DuPuy, and two beautiful daughters, Elizabeth Ann and Mary Glen. We were told by them he was a gentle, sweet, and loving father and was adored by his children. This bio will be completed when I receive text from his girls that they might like to leave at this site. Also his obituary, which will be written here as well.
Rest in perfect peace, sweet Curt. I'm so certain your Mother was waiting for you when he left this life...
