Mrs. George I. Barta

Bernice Ethel Fowler, daughter of William and Rose Fowler, was born near Deweese, Nebraska, March 15, 1899, and departed this life at her home in Hastings, Nebraska, May 24, 1952, at the age of 53 years, two months and nine days.

On March 12, 1923, she was married at Clay Center, Nebraska, to George I. Barta of Spring Ranch, Nebraska. This union was blessed with two daughters, Fara Jean Carpenter and Juanita Rose Buffett, both of Hastings.

Mrs. Barta was a ,member of the Methodist church and her faith in God remained steadfast to the end of her earthly journey. She was a kind and loving woman and will be sadly missed by her many friends and relatives.

Left to mourn her passing besides her husband and daughters, are four grandchildren, Robert, Joyce and Terry Carpenter and Carolyn Buffett all of Hastings; one sister Mrs. Dolly Roth of Deweese; three brothers, Floyd of Superior, Merle of Glenvil and Francis of Riverton, Wyoming, and a host of other relatives and friends. Her parents and one brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, May 27, 1952, at 2:00 o'clock at the Livingston-Butler-Volland Chapel in Hastings with the Rev. A. A. Schneider officiating.

Burial was in the Fairfield cemetery (sic).---Fairfield Auxiliary.
