Mrs. Frank J. (Lottie Lorrene) Stitzer, 72, of 521 E. 2nd St. S., a resident of Newton since 1926, died Saturday afternoon, August 11, at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. E. William Kaska, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Reese Funeral Home until 9 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, August 13, at the funeral home. A memorial to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church has been established. Memorials may be left at the church or the funeral home.

Survivors are: sons, John of Marshalltown and David of Indianola; daughter, Mrs. Shirley Chevalier of North Salt Lake, Utah; three grand-children and a great-grandchild. Also surviving are: a brother James Kelso of Unionville, MO; sisters Minnie Darr and Hazel Atz both of Newton; and Frances Miller of North Liberty. She was preceded in death by; her parents, husband Frank, infant son Frankie, and a brother George.

Mrs. Stitzer was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. During her time in Newton, she was employed by a photographer, a tailor, the Coast to Coast store, and finally as a self-employed seamstress working out of her home.

The daughter of John and Bessie Draper Kelso, she was born January 29, 1912, in Novinger, Missouri. She moved to Newton with her parents in 1926. She was married November 16, 1929, to Frank Stitzer in Kirksville, Missouri.
