Jesse W. Perrin, age 53, watchmaker in Anderson for a long period, living on Nichol avenue road, west of this city, died suddenly last night at 7:20 o'clock of a heart ailment while attending a party of the Madison County Scottish Rite Club, near Pendleton. Arriving at the party a few minutes before he was stricken, Mr. Perrin died immediately after the attack, before medical aid could be given. Physicians present attempted to revive Mr. Perrin, but the efforts were futile. Dr. Robert Armington, coroner, attributed death to a heart attack.
A native of Lancaster, Ky., Mr. Perrin came to Anderson 35 years ago from Stanford, Ky. He had been a watchmaker here since coming to the city. He was employed at the Clark & Raber Jewelry Store for a long period, later operating a watch repair department at the Vermillion Jewelry Store. For the past five years he had operated his own business in the Olsen and Ebann Jewelry Store, on Meridian street. He was a member of Fellowship Lodge, No 681, Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite and Shrine.
The body was removed to the Harold Rozelle funeral home.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Marie Perrin, who operates the Anderson Travel Bureau; four sisters, Mrs. Earl Flowers, Mrs. Fred Bronnenberg and Mrs. Anna Lee Hanshew, all of this city, and Mrs W.H. Tyler, Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Clarence Perrin, Long Beach, Calif., and Lloyd Perrin, Casper Wyo., and several nieces and nephews.
