Florence Durbin Abney, age 85, of Rose Street, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at the U. K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

She was born August 10, 1924, in Estill County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Tom and Nancy Jane Harris Durbin.

Mrs. Abney was a homemaker and member of the Jeffersonville Baptist Church.

Mrs. Abney is survived by her husband of 68 years, Taylor R. Abney; one son, Taylor C. "Corky" Abney and wife Barbara of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; one sister, Margaret Cox of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a special friend, Sue Compton of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Jeffersonville Baptist Church with Steve Creech officiating. Burial will follow in the Lovely Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Knox, Doyle Conn, Earl Peyton, Jimmy Patrick, Bobby Williams, Bobby Willoughby, and Barnes Compton.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at the Jeffersonville Baptist Church, 145 State Highway 559, Jeffersonville, Kentucky.

Arrangements are under the direction on Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
