A beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and cousin, Julie, born in Montebello, California, grew up in Alhambra, went to Ramona Elementary, and graduated from Mark Keppel High School in 1982.

She was tragically murdered at her home in Westminster, California. Her partner of twenty-five years, Dennis Koire, also attacked, is not expected to regain consciousness.

Julie was a very passionate person caring deeply about politics and the environment. She adored animals and was very active in protecting our planet. She loved music; from Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley to the Beatles and Black Sabbath. Her favorite band was Heaven and Hell. She tried to establish a career in music by singing lead with several bands, writing, performing and recording her own music; definitely a talented young woman. She kept her job at the Long Beach docks, where she worked until her death.

Julie had many friends who truly miss her. Julie was enamored with the desert. She and Dennis had acreage in Arizona and intended to build a self-sustainable ranch on the forty-eight acre land. She dreamt and planned for the day when she and Dennis would retire there. The planet has lost a friend.

Julie's memorial services were held on February 24, 2010 at Rose Hills Memorial Park, where she was interned.

She is survived by her mother, Marge Palasco, father John Palasco, sisters; Syndi Palasco Batmanghelich, Hormoz, nephews; Ashkon, Kamron Batmanghelich,; Shelia Kemp , Cyrus; Lori McCartan, Sean; nieces Kelli McCartan Caceres, Cesar, Meghan McCartan. She is also survived by her Uncle Gordon McDaniels, Aunt Joyce, Ron McIntyre, as well as many first and second cousins.

She is terribly missed by those who knew and loved her. Julie will live on in all our hearts forever.
