He built a house on a little hill next to his parents. Where they farmed, and had fruit trees scattered around.
He had a blacksmith shop where he made wagon wheels and other things. He trapped and sold furs to Sears and Roebuck.
They canned food from the crops and stored them in the cellar under the house for later use.
