She had one brother, Benjamin "Bill" Franklin Jackson, and two sisters, Mary Lou Jackson Pethel and Joann Jackson Martin Davidson. She was baptized at Airline Baptist Church August. 1946.
She was married to her first husband Ned Cannon and had one child, Steve.
She married her second husband, Bobby E. Whitmire and has five surviving children, Darlene Sandra, Vince, Victor, Jeannie and Jody.
She married her third husband, Vernon Smith.
Joyce could crochet and was a good cook and made everyone happy around her. She loved to travel and was a homemaker and secretary also. She loved the Lord and when she became ill with cancer, she wanted to go to her Heavenly Home to be with her Saviour Jesus.
