Henry and Dorothy were married young and had two sons- Billy Shoemaker Jr. and James Shoemaker.

James was born Feb. 22, 1934 in Maysville Kentucky.
He died March 24, 2009 and is buried in the Elmwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon Kentucky.
